Vintage Dutch Ice Skates

We were excited by this collection we found. We purchased these from a Dutch Sporting Goods Antique Dealer.
This particular pair is what we call the “hourglass” shaped style and it has most of the leather for the bindings which is rare. One skate has the back binding, and the other has both the back binding and the long front leather strap to wrap around the foot and ankle to secure it onto the skate.
Maple or other hardwood bases with hand forged steel blades make these ice skates beautiful for decoration – around (or on) the Christmas tree, as a centerpiece or just hanging from the mantel.
